As a part of the KCWC I had planned to make a skirt and top set for my youngest daughter. Sewing did commence that week but I have only recently completed it. I made the twirly skirt with fabric purchased from Lincraft and then embellised a t-shirt with a doily. I was quite nervous about stitching the doily to the t-shirt for some reason but it went on very easily. I simply pinned it well and machine stitched around it at 3 points. It was an experimental piece and quite fun to make so I plan to continue the doily theme for a bit longer.
The doily theme has continued with this t-shirt...
I will post more about this later including some fantastic blog links that have inspired me to create with doilies and fabric dye.
